What it can bring you

Why people come to see me

For children

Taming anger, fears and school stress through play and imagination.

For teenagers

Handling exam nerves, peer pressure and emotions that go up and down like a rollercoaster.

For adults

Stress, mental load, sleep, confidence, times of change.

For seniors

Sleeping better, easing worries, getting through retirement or a bereavement.

For the whole family

Each person has their own sessions, with tools you can share at home.

Same method, very different sessions

Sophrology rests on three things: breathing, body relaxation and visualisation. What changes from one age to the next is how I bring them in.

With an 8-year-old, we play. The breath becomes a balloon you blow up, anger becomes a storm you watch go by. With a teenager, I keep things concrete and respect their privacy: what they tell me stays between us. With an adult, we start from their real daily life, their hours, what keeps them going and what wears them out. With an older person, I adapt the movements to how their body is at that moment, seated if needed.

Why from age 8

It's the age when children start to put words to what they feel and can repeat an exercise on their own. For younger children, I'd rather refer you to a professional who specialises in early childhood.

What the youngest have taught me

I've run sophrology workshops in schools. The children taught me to keep it short, keep it simple and always leave room for play. That helps me with adults too, who sometimes forget it.

I see people at my practice, 102 rue Ducau in Bordeaux, and by video call. Sophrology doesn't replace medical care: it complements it.

How a session unfolds

What happens in a session

  1. 01

    A first conversation

With the child and their parent, with the teenager alone, or with you: what brings you and what you'd like to change.

  2. 02

    Settling in

A few breaths and some body relaxation, turned into a game for the youngest.

  3. 03

    The exercises

Chosen to suit age and goal: emotions, exams, sleep, confidence.

  4. 04

    How it felt

We take a moment to talk about what happened during the session.

  5. 05

    A tool for home

A short exercise that's easy to repeat, plus a few pointers for parents if needed.

Questions

Your questions

How does sophrology adapt to different ages?

With children, everything goes through play. With teenagers, I keep things concrete and respect their need for privacy. With adults, we start from their real daily life. With seniors, I adapt the movements, and we do them seated if needed.

Can several members of the same family come to you?

Yes. Each person then has their own sessions, and whatever each of you tells me stays confidential, including from the rest of the family.

Why do parents bring a child or teenager to a sophrologist?

Most often: stress about school and exams, anger or anxiety that spills over, trouble falling asleep, or a lack of confidence.

Is sophrology suitable for athletes?

Yes, at any age and any level: managing nerves before a competition, staying focused, recovering better after exertion.
